Hi! I’m Chelsea and I was born and raised in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. I love sushi, Starbucks, and anime! I graduated from the University of Hawaii Manoa with a bachelor’s degree in Second Language Studies. I have been teaching English since 2016. My goal is to help students have fun with English!

Susanne R.  / Instructor

Heidelberg, German Chitosefunabashi

I have just started teaching at Knock Knock Preschool, but I have been working here as a teaching support for almost three years.
In order to learn more about educating children, I am studying education at a distance university.
My lessons are fun and easy to understand, but I like to challenge the children to try new things too! Depending on the level of the children, I use different teaching elements in the lessons. Catchy songs, challenging worksheets, books and crafts that will touch their creativity. I motivate and encourage the children because I want them to enjoy every English lesson!

See you at Knock Knock,

Julian K.  / Instructor

North Carolina, USA Chitosefunabashi / Seijo

How’s it going! My name is Julian, and I have been teaching English since 2018. I also tutored students in history and English while I was in high school (2009-2013). I play guitar and sing as a hobby, and write music to pass the time.
My method of teaching is through activities and singing, to keep the mind busy and your energy high and focused .
We , at Knock Knock, hope to see you soon !

Evyn B.  / Instructor

Los Angeles, USA Chitosefunabashi / Seijo

Hello! I’m Evyn and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I’ve been in Japan since March of 2022. I’m currently a full-time Japanese language student and work at Knock Knock English. I have a degree in Journalism-Public relations and I am planning on getting my master’s degree in Education next year, here in Tokyo.

When I was younger, I was in the US Army and also worked on an ambulance as an Emergency Medical Technician. I really love Japan and feel a sense of accomplishment from being able to teach Japanese people English.

I have many hobbies and likes but I especially love baseball, pizza and photography. Nice to meet you!

Gary O.  / Instructor

  • The Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Childcare (EYE)

Milton Keynes, UK Chitosefunabashi / Seijo

I love working with young children, and gained a qualification and 6 years of experience in early childhood education in England before moving to Japan. I've been teaching English to Japanese kindergarteners for over 8 years and it's still such a joy to interact with them each day.

During classes I get a feel for each child's interests and level of ability, and try my best to continue to develop their skills with fun activities and games, and at playtime I always join in!

In my free time I love going to live music shows, reading books and comics, cooking (and eating!) and video games.

Gabriela M.  / Instructor

Bogota, Colombia Chitosefunabashi / Seijo

I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, and have been learning languages all my life. I grew up speaking Spanish at home but have used English and French in school since the first grade! I earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a focus on foreign languages in the U.S.A.

I love teaching languages because I can relate to my students’ struggles when learning a new language, and can hopefully help them confidently use their new language skills.

In my free time, I love walking around the city with my husband, reading a book, and spending time at cafes and museums.

Akari P.  / Instructor

Los Angeles, USA Chitosefunabashi / Seijo

My name is Akari and I was born in Myanmar but raised in California, Los Angeles.
I came to Japan almost 2 years ago to finish my University as well as to experience living in Japan.
I am trilingual and learning language is one of my hobbies as well as teaching them.
I love spending time with children and hope to have fun times with them in the classroom.
Some of my other hobbies include watching movies, cooking, and playing games.

Nice to meet you!

I've spent the most time teaching high school students - roughly 4 years - but I love teaching students of all ages! Osaka, Japan Seijo

Hello, my name is Kaori, and I was born and raised in Osaka. I attended Osaka University of Arts where I studied literature. After my studies, I opened my own business and provided private vocal training to people of all ages. In 2008 I immigrated to Toronto, Canada, and enrolled in music classes. During my 7-year-stay in Canada, I had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with people from various cultures, religions, languages, and backgrounds. This experience enriched my life tremendously. Despite our differences, we were unified by our humanity, our interests, and our passions.

My passion is to encourage people to reach their full potential by motivating them with positive speech and positive reinforcement. I thrive on providing others with a safe space to communicate their thoughts and feelings and embrace their uniqueness. At Knock Knock Preschool, I will utilize my passion for supporting the children, developing both educationally and emotionally, and helping them broaden their horizons by embracing the beauty of diversity.

I am delighted to be at Knock Knock Preschool and look forward to being a valuable team member.

Tohma H.

London, England

Hello, I’m Tohma and I’m from London in England. My main job on the bus is to ensure your children’s safety and make pick ups as smooth as possible. During the journey, I also encourage children to converse in English and share facts about themselves, so they’re warmed up for a productive day at school. Although I’m still young, I have plenty of experience teaching younger students as I have worked as a volunteer at a preschool in Cambodia and as a tutor and teaching aide in high school. In my free time I enjoy reading and playing sports.
